Ainsley launches flavour-filled, easy cook grains range – to save a wretch like you!
One of Britain’s best loved TV chefs, with his own product range Ainsley Harriott has fast become the master of easy and accessible cuisine. After conquering the cous cous and risotto markets, he’s set for another success with the launch of his new Amazing Grains range…
Nutritious, tasty and extremely versatile, grains such as Quinoa, Bulgar Wheat and Spelt have tended to be eaten mainly by either ‘in-the-know foodies’ or the super healthy, but with Ainsley’s new range, the UK can set itself for a full-scale grain invasion as they’re now accessible, and available, to all.
Comprising five different products, the Amazing Grains range will make for exciting new meal accompaniments for those who are tired of sticking with the same side dish with every meal – and they’re quick and easy to prepare too. Whether it’s the Lentil Dahl, Creamy Vegetable Spelt, Quinoa and Basmati Rice or one of the two Bulgar Wheat options you plump for, it’s simply a case of emptying a sachet of grains into a saucepan, adding the seasoning, water and bringing to the boil then simmering.
Which brings us to the all important health benefits… Each of the grains used within the range have specific health credentials but all of the 150g boxes contain less than 2% fat for starters (see supplementary fact sheet for further nutritional information).
Expert nutritionist Nigel Denby has endorsed the new range. He says, “UK consumers are becoming increasingly aware of what constitutes a healthy balanced diet. However, awareness doesn’t always translate into action. The barriers to making healthy food choices are of course complex, but in my experience as a dietician and food writer, a lack of confidence and time to cook with unfamiliar ingredients are often involved. Grains are a key piece in the healthy eating jigsaw so the new Ainsley Harriott Amazing Grains ticks all the boxes for me – it’s convenient, tasty and of course full of good nutrition.”

Sold in 150g boxes (that serve two people), the Ainsley Harriott Amazing Grains range is made up of:
• Chilli & Lime Flavoured Quinoa & Basmati Rice:
Quinoa is an ancient super grain with an amazing nutritional profile. It has a crunchy texture and a mild, nutty flavour and is perfect with fish or chicken.
• Creamy Vegetable Spelt:
With an origin that can be traced back over 7000 years, Spelt is a versatile nutty grain with amazing nutritional properties. Perfect with Gammon, chicken, sausages or crusty bread.
• Wild Mushroom Bulgar Wheat:
A light, moist, fluffy grain. A versatile, alternative carbohydrate, it’s perfect with steak, pork or turkey.
• Lentil Dahl:
A blend of red and brown lentils that have a high protein and fibre content. Perfect with chicken, prawns or lamb.
• Mediterranean Fusion Bulgar Wheat:
